Osmund Bopearachchi a renowned Sri Lankan historian and numismatist has made significant contributions to the field particularly in standardizing the coinage of the Indo-Greek and Greco-Bactrian kingdoms. Currently he holds distinguished positions as Emeritus Director at the CNRS École normale supérieure and Adjunct Professor of Central and South Asian Art Archaeology and Numismatics at the University of California Berkeley.
